On June 18th Disciples Church is hosting a movie night at the Folsom Garden Apartments on Stafford Street in Folsom.  Located down the block from Theodore Judah Elementary School, this complex creates a great opportunity to build community with some who may be far from God and His people.

Would you be willing to come down early to help with set up or stay a little late to clean up after the event?  Come as a family bring your blanket or lawn chairs and enjoy a movie under the stars.

Over the last few weeks there has been much talk about the new after-school program that has just began at Theodore Judah Elementary, where Disciples Church meets on Sundays.  This after-school program is lead through a grant funded program called STARs that offers this program at several other local  elementary and middle schools.  We at Disciples Church are grateful for the opportunity to come along side of this program and support the elements they have in place.  

Here are the ways that you can help out,  Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons for 3-4 pm help with Tutoring element of the after-school program.   If you can help contact Amanda McCall – almccall28@hotmail.com or (530) 524-9373.

The first opportunity for national outreach will be taking place this spring.  March 3-7, 2010 a team from Disciples Church will be headed to Hawaii to partner with The Awakening Church. Our heart is to partner with Church planters and support them in the call God has placed on their lives to plant churches.  If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity plan on attending the informational gathering, if you are not able to attend but would like more information email Amanda McCall almccall28@hotmail.com with any questions that you have.
