Our Approach

Remember newspaper stands? Maybe I should back up: remember newspapers? They seem like such a foreign concept now since we just click frontwebour news, but it was not too long ago that many of our parents got up early in the morning, slipped on some slippers, a robe and headed out to that large thorny bush near the doorstep to fish out this morning’s paper.

This is how we found out what was going on in the world, it’s how we connected to things far beyond our reach. Today I rarely see a newspaper and newsstands are all but extinct. But to say the news is no longer relevant just because we get it a different way is just plain silly.

The Church could surely be likened to that of a newspaper or newspaper stand. I am finding more and more that my generation has not given up on the idea of living in a Christ Community or living under the Good News of Jesus, they just are not willing to get that news in the same mediums their parents grew comfortable with.

Enter Disciples Church. We’re a new church (our first public gathering was Oct. 18, 2009) in Folsom designed to engage young thinkers and adventurous spirits longing to accelerate their spiritual journey. We are Real people, engaging with a Real God and experiencing Real Life.

So welcome to our online interactions. Even the website has been designed for interaction and not simply a one-way conversation, we hope you will find this prevalent throughout the culture of Disciples Church. Check out our Small Groups, Events and info on our Sunday Gatherings. We hope to meet you very soon.

REAL GOD | REAL PEOPLE | REAL LIFE
